Students Gain Workplace Experiences through “Job Shadow” Program

Job Shadow program, was conducted in partnership with Batelco, a leading local organization and one of INJAZ Bahrain board members aims to provide students with real-life opportunities to learn about fundamental business concepts - such as revenues, costs, competitiveness, and market dynamics - that will help shape their future careers.
During the visit, the volunteer talked to students about his career experiences and allowed them to shadow him and his colleagues in their various roles.
Students were engaged with Batelco’s employees and prepared reports on what they learned from the experience, and asked to develop a personal plan of action on how to achieve their academic and career goals.
Expressing his view about the positive impact of the program, Mr. Ahmed Al Sairafi:
"I volunteered with INJAZ Bahrain and participated in the Job Shadow program. It was great to see the students improve their skills and keen on adopting new ones. During the program I teaches them about career clusters and all the available industries in kingdom of Bahrain to help them shape their careers and plan for a brighter future.”

INJAZ Bahrain introduce “Young CEO’s program”

As part of youth development and providing opportunities to inspire and prepare young Bahrainis to succeed in a global economy, INJAZ Bahrain has newly introduced the “Young CEO’s Program" during the board meeting on 06 April 2016 held at GPIC Club. INJAZ Bahrain's long term vision is to enhance and leverage on the Company program to make it one of our most sought out programs for schools and universities by encouraging young students of the program to become the future Entrepreneurs and by providing them with the skills needed to succeed in in the local economy. The Young CEO program gives the student CEO's of the company program the opportunity to network with top executives from diverse backgrounds, industries and countries, gain valuable market knowledge and develop understanding of the roles and responsibilities of top executives represented by the INJAZ Board Members to pave the way for these youngsters to become successful leaders of the future.
14 Young student CEO's from 11 Schools and 2 Universities who are participating in this year's Company Program met with 9 INJAZ Bahrain’s aspiring board members to have an open discussion on how to manage their companies, financial aspects, staff management, expanding opportunities, market challenges, success approaches and general business opportunities.

INJAZ Bahrain new Head Quarters

INJAZ Bahrain is excited to announce receiving a remarkable donation from Diyar Al Muhharraq, the owned project by Kuwait Finance House INJAZ Bahrain Board member.
The donated landscape is located in one of the biggest planned city in the kingdom of Bahrain. INJAZ Bahrain plan is to start construction on the site to finish in the coming two years through further donations from its corporate partners.
The new headquarter will give INJAZ Bahrain the opportunity to expand and achieve the unique vision to accommodate more students, volunteers and strategic partners. The future premise will consist of operating offices, training rooms, lounges and conferences rooms modernly designed to facilitate the right environment for the orientations and the extended learning opportunities INJAZ Bahrain is planning to offer.

Extended Collaboration between INJAZ Bahrain and Ministry of Education

INJAZ Bahrain signed off Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education on 5th of June 2016 in recognition of the on-going collaboration and the desire of the two parties in a joint cooperation to provide a range of specialized professional educational programs to the students by educating and empowering them to transform their future and own their economic success.
The signing ceremony was held in the Ministry of Education premises in presence of His Excellency Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Naimi and Her Highness Sh. Hessa Bint Khalifa Al-Khalifa, the Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain, Ms.Hana Sarwani, Chief Operating Officer of INJAZ Bahrain, Dr. Mona Albalooshi Assistant Secretary General of the Higher Education Council and other officials at the Ministry of Education.
Her Highness Sheikha Hessa stressed on the important role Ministry of Education that has played in facilitating INJAZ Bahrain programs implementation in all educational institutions. She also touched on the major achievements made over the years and how the organization extended the students’ learning experience by providing them in partnership with the various private sector organizations with a number of mentorship, internship and community service opportunities in an attempt to link what they learn from INJAZ Bahrain programs with the real world of work.

INJAZ Bahrain 2016 National Company Competition And Annual Appreciation Lunch

INJAZ Bahrain concluded the 8th Company of the Year Competition & 2016 Annual Appreciation lunch on 3rd May 2016 at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel. The event was sponsored by GPIC, the organizations’ strategic partner and member of the board of directors.
The competition event witnessed youth participants showcasing their entrepreneurial achievements, and concluded with crowning of Roshena team from Ibn Khuldoon National School as the winner of the “High School Company of the Year”, and Avenir team from University of Bahrain as the winner of “University Company of the Year”.
For the first time, Student companies were awarded for Best Social Impact and Best Product. Bahrain Bayan school Innovators team from The Bahrain Bayan School won the High School Product of the Year2016, Avenir team from University of Bahrain won the University Product of the Year2016, TickPills team from Al Iman Private Girls School won High School Company for Best Social Impact 2016 and iEnjoy & Benefit team from University Of Bahrain won University Company for Best Social Impact 2016.

In celebration of the competition INJAZ Bahrain released The Company Magazine first issue to highlight the Company program 2015-2016 accomplishments.

As part of INJAZ Bahrain appreciation and gratitude to all its partners, an appreciation lunch was also held to recognize and honor all supporters and volunteers who participated throughout the year 2015/2016.
Over the previous academic year, INJAZ Bahrain’s programs reached more than 20,000 students, 130 schools, as well as 5 universities. This tremendous accomplishment would not have been possible without our dedicated 800 volunteers. All volunteers were honored at the event and presented with certificates of appreciation and a special honoring of 70 Outstanding Volunteers.

IINJAZ Bahrain participates in Knowledge Sharing day with Higher Education Council - HEC

INJAZ Bahrain participates in the “knowledge sharing” day organized by the Higher Education Council, that took place in the HEC premises in Isa Town.

All universities around the Kingdom of Bahrain attended and shared their Entrepreneurship best practices. INJAZ Bahrain participated by conducting a General Orientation introducing its university programs focusing on Entrepreneurship programs and exploring areas of collaboration on the role of HEC and universities in supporting Youth Entrepreneurship Education in Bahrain. The workshop also discussed strategies, opportunities and obstacles facing the students in the real business world and how all parties involved can offer support to the young entrepreneurs to start up.

INJAZ Bahrain staff engaged in Toastmasters' training

Gulf Petroleum Industries Company “GPIC” has taken the initiative to Introduce INJAZ Bahrain Staff to toastmaster on January 2016.

The training started with INJAZ Bahrain staff introducing themselves to the GPIC Toastmaster club member, followed by a welcome speech from the president of the club Mr. Yasser Al Noaimi sharing an inspirational success story of a famous toastmaster and introducing the toastmaster of the day Dr. Ahmed Bucheeri. After a presentation of the toastmaster history done by one of the valuable members of the club Mr. Moahmmed Abdin, the day ended with the table topics activity. Ms. Fatima Abdulrahman-INJAZ Bahrain operations officer won The Best Table Topic where she gave a 2 minute speech about "age".

INJAZ Bahrain Company program Internship

As part of the Company program, INJAZ Bahrain in collaboration with its esteemed board companies gives the opportunity to the students to join the internship. This training session was conducted to more than 60 students from 10 schools around the kingdom of Bahrain and the University of Bahrain at GPIC, ALBA, Citi Bahrain, Tamkeen and HSBC.

The Internship aims to expose the “Company” program students to the specific functions in the working field and exhibiting what the students learnt as part of the program and how it is applicable in the real world. Also to give the students the opportunity to meet your experts and professionals to add value, advises and tips to their startup company.

We truly believe that this internship will give students the chance to gain more knowledge and will enhance their skills and abilities that will surly help them perform well in the competition.

INJAZ Bahrain Recognizes Educators

INJAZ Bahrain organized an educators' day, which took a place at Bapco club in recognition of the on-going collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The event honored educators, Ministry of Education officials and school coordinators who are actively involved in the organization’s programs. In presence of Sh. Hessa Bint Khalifa Al-Khalifa, the Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain, Ms. Latifa Al-Bunodha , Undersecretary for General and Technical Education, Private Directorate and other VIP officials at the Ministry of Education.

The Best School of each level of 2014-2015 were recognized and granted with BD 2000 to be used in educational developments for their school, Certificates of appreciation were also distributed to all participating school coordinators for their efforts and valuable contributions over this academic year and to the Ministry of Education for their lasting support in implementing INJAZ Bahrain programs.

Shaikha Hessa’s Recognition to the 2015 Young Entrepreneur Competition's Company of the year winners in the High School category

After the winning of two prizes, High School Company of Year 2015 and Remarkable Customer Service in the INJAZ Al-Arab Young Entrepreneurs Competition – Oman, INJAZ Bahrain executive director Shaikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa Honors the winner team “3 Dots” at Al Iman Private School for their outstanding achievements. Her highness also expressed her gratitude to the support of the volunteering team and school administration.

Three of our leading board members “Dr. Abdulrahman Jawaheri - GPIC President, Mr. AbdulRahman Janahi - Director of Administration ALBA and Ms. Mona Alhashimi Batelco Chief Executive Officer” attended this ceremony to support and recognize the winning team, all have congratulated the winning team and supported them to continue their hard work and great efforts in establishing and continuing with their company.

INJAZ Bahrain Inspires Company students through iCAMPs

As a new approach to encourage and motivate the company program students 2015-2016, INJAZ Bahrain has successfully conducted an iCAMP workshop, for more than 100 Company Program students in order to meet their competitor teams and to experience the competition spirit by finding the most innovative solution for a real business challenge of "Youth entertainment facilities in Bahrain”. The workshop was sponsored by GPIC, one of our leading partners and board member.

During the workshop, INJAZ Bahrain Executive Director Shaikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, had a talk with the students to energize them to grasp any opportunity towards reaching their goals and dreams as they will be competing against each other to represent Bahrain in the regional competition that is scheduled to be held in Bahrain for the first time.

INJAZ Bahrain Celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week

INJAZ Bahrain celebrated Global Entrepreneurship Week on the 15th to the 21st of November 2015. Global Entrepreneurship Week is an international initiative that introduces entrepreneurship to young people.
INJAZ Bahrain conducted some inspirational sessions for students of Ripples of Happiness , Entrepreneurship Master Class and Company program , where young Bahraini entrepreneurs hit the stage and spoke about their personal lessons, insights and overall their business success story. Furthermore students had the great opportunity to network and receive guidance from the entrepreneurs themselves.

INJAZ Bahrain participated in the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum 2015 held on the 16th November 2015 organized by Bahrain SMES at the Gulf Hotel. A panel discussion was conducted by Ms. Hana Sarwani, COO of INJAZ Bahrain, the deputy chairman of the Young Entrepreneurs Committee, CEO of Tanmou, marketing manager of Tamkeen and a young Entrepreneur from Oman to discuss the role of the government and private sector in supporting Youth Entrepreneurship in Bahrain and the region.

INJAZ Bahrain Celebrates a decade full of Achievements

INJAZ Bahrain held a special event celebrating its 10th anniversary on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Ritz Carlton in Manama. The event, patronized by the INJAZ Bahrain executive director Sh. Hessa bint Khalifa al Khalifa, showcased the non-profit organization’s numerous achievements and milestones over the past decade.
In addition to senior directors and employees from the organization, the event was attended by representatives from its strategic partners from the public and private sectors, including HE Dr. Majid bin Ali Al—Nuaimi the Minister of Education, as well as the volunteers and coordinators of the numerous programs it conducts in the kingdom’s schools and universities to prepare youth for success in the global economy.
The event kicked off with an exhibition of outstanding projects by students who were trained under the organization’s various programs over the years, such as “The Company” program and others. The attendees toured the exhibition and engaged with the students and discussed ways of further developing their ideas.
This was followed by the opening address delivered by Sh. Hessa, in which she underlined the key highlights and milestones of the organization since its establishment in 2005, especially noting the steady increase each year in schools, students, and volunteers involved in its programs.
In addition, the event included an address by INJAZ Al-Arab Chief Executive Akif Al-Aqrabawi, in which he commended INJAZ Bahrain’s initiatives to enrich the formal academic education in schools and universities across Bahrain, with a focus on the pillars of entrepreneurship, work-readiness, and financial literacy.
Moreover, INJAZ Bahrain Chairman Abdulrahman Jawahery also delivered an address which highlighted the enormous strides the organization has made in its first decade in terms of programs, students, and volunteers, thus firmly establishing itself as one of the leading institutions dedicated to up-skilling Bahrainis in line with the Bahrain Economic Vision.

INJAZ Bahrain “ICAMP” Students explore the spirit of entrepreneurship

INJAZ Bahrain held its first INNOVATION CAMP ”iCamp”, for the Fall Semester 2015-2016 at Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance “BIBF”.

BIBF is recognized as one of the strongest educators and training providers in the business sector’s and is considered as the largest training institution in the kingdom of Bahrain. BIBF academic programmes are developed with academic direction of prestigious international universities and are approved by the Bahrain Higher Education Council.

This iCamp was part of BIBF's induction week, where all foundation year students were given the opportunity to share and develop ideas. Students were divided into 8 teams with the assistance of corporate volunteers, to compete against each other and find a creative solution for a real business challenge which was “Starting up a business” within a very limited time using specific tools, information and resources. And as part of this event, students were able to meet and engage with one of the most successful Bahraini entrepreneurs, Ms. Noora Al Haddad, who shared her success story with the team.

INJAZ Bahrain Summer Camp

INJAZ Bahrain conducted its first summer camp during Aug 2015 with more than 40 student’s participation. INJAZ Bahrain conducted three programs under the Work Readiness pillar: Entrepreneurship Master Class, Career Success and Job shadow. The classes were held at the Batelco Club under the sponsorship of one of our valued board member, BATELCO. The Job Shadow program was held at Credimax and was a big success with students especially with Credimax CEO giving an inspirational talk.

Along with other summer classes, INJAZ Bahrain partnered with many institutes on the island to offer opportunities for youngsters to benefit from its rich programs. INJAZ Bahrain conducted a variety of programs at the Royal Charity organization (RCO), Gifted center, Salman Cultural Center, Al Eslah Society and Quran centers. A total of 259 youth participated during this summer break in classes and activities that would bring them closer to the real market place and equip them with the necessary skills, tools, and practical experience for a better tomorrow.

INJAZ Bahrain Partners with Youth City for the 5th year

Youth City 2030 is an annual event organized by Bahrain’s General Organization for Youth and Sports (GOYS). The event focuses on key growth areas for Bahraini youth, aiming to promote creative thinking among them and encourage talent in areas such as leadership, media, information technology, arts, languages, science and sports.

For the fifth year in a row, INJAZ Bahrain partners with Youth Citi 2030 to implement one of our keen programs “The Company”. 20 students participated this year in the company program and were mentored by one of our valued BBK volunteer Ms. Fatima Abdulrahman, where she added a number of accompanying activities to enrich the knowledge and the experience of the company students. This team will be qualified to take part in the National Company Competition in the coming academic year 2015-2016.

Renew Partnership with Universities

During the holy month of Ramadan, INJAZ Bahrain approached many top Universities in Kingdom of Bahrain to explore new opportunities on collaboration and engagement and to share ideas on strategies for increased awareness of INJAZ Bahrain program in Universities. Various ideas were shared for the upcoming semesters where the ongoing universities campaigns were a starting point to a new one to one approach to the university students.
As part of the new built partnership with Bahrain polytechnic, INJAZ Bahrain Staff members were invited to join their annual Ramadan event on June 30, 2015 at University premises – Isa Town.
INJAZ Bahrain Staff Celebrated one of the most joyful traditional occasion “Gergaoon”. The occasion is celebrated in Bahrain and the other gulf countries at the 15th night of the holy month of Ramadan. Each year children will wander from house to house while signing the traditional song of Gergaoon asking for special Gergaoon candies and treats. The ongoing tradition strengthens the relations between the community members and help in building self confidence in young generation.

INJAZ Bahrain Attends “Success Stories” Event

INJAZ Bahrain were invited to join the Development NGO – Visionaries’ annual event, "Success Stories", featuring international architect Carlos Zapata, American fashion designer Maggie Norris, and international artist Benjamin Shine on June 1st, 2015 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
Hosting three international public figures in a youth engagement effort, "Success Stories" by Visionaries aims to inspire local youth and empowers young talents by providing inspiring global examples of career success.
INJAZ Bahrain outstanding students were given the opportunity to listen and interact with the distinguished personalities and learn the secret of success from the experiences of the speakers, who shared their stories, challenges, opportunities and inspirations throughout their long journey.

INJAZ Bahrain Renews its Partnership

On INJAZ Bahrain Board meeting was held on June 16, 2015. The Board of Directors have re-elected Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, The President of GPIC as INJAZ Bahrain Chairman, for the next 3 year term. Mr. Abdul Hakeem Al Khayyat, the CEO of Kuwait Finance House, was elected as INJAZ Bahrain Vice Chairman replacing outgoing Vice Chairman Mr. Mazen Manaa the CEO of Citi Bahrain.
INJAZ Bahrain is closing the year with a record student's outreach of 20,006. This indicates the strong support and determination of volunteers, educators and partners who are working jointly with INJAZ Bahrain to provide opportunities for youth to explore their potentials and develop skills that will help them make better career choices and provide them with a more promising future.

INJAZ Bahrain Company of the Year Competition 2015

INJAZ Bahrain held its 7th “Company of the Year Competition” on April 27th & 28th 2015. The annual celebration of the accomplishments and achievement of the young entrepreneurs who have participated in the INJAZ Bahrain “Company Program".
11 teams competed to be crowned as the Company of the Year, from different secondary government & private schools, as well as institutes.
“3 Dots” Company from Al-Iman Private School for girls, took the first place in the competition, and received the winning trophy from Her Highness Shaikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain and Dr Abdulrahman Jawaheri, INJAZ Bahrain Chairman. “Interactive Education” from The Bahrain Bayan School and “Noor” From Ahmed Al Omran Secondary boys school too the second and third place respectively.
The winning teams were selected by a specialist judging panel, which consisted of professionals from several leading organizations in the Kingdom: Mr. Mahmood AL Mahmood From “KFH”, Ms. Nadera Abuali from “Citi Bahrain”, Ms. Raeda Al Shemmari From “GPIC”, Mr. Haamed Fakhro “an Entrepreneur” and Ms. Hana Sarwani From “INJAZ Bahrain”.
As the winner of the local competition, the team from Al-Iman Private School for girls will proceed to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain at the regional INJAZ AL ARAB competition later this year.

Manama Entrepreneurship & Youth Empowerment Week.

We were pleased to be invited to the First Manama Entrepreneurship & Youth Empowerment Week, held under the Patronage of H.E. Sh. Hisham Bin AbdulRahman Al Khalifa, governor of the Capital Governorate on the 7th to 14th of May, 2015.
Students from University of Bahrain, Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance and AMA International School joined INJAZ Bahrain in the Opening Ceremony, where young Bahraini entrepreneurs hit the stage and spoke about their personal lessons, insights and overall their business success story. Furthermore, we had the great opportunity to network and receive guidance from Sh. Hisham Bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa himself, along with specialists that have the knowledge and expertise within the Entrepreneurial Culture in the Kingdom Of Bahrain.

INJAZ Bahrain Inspires INNOVATION though iCAMPs

The sixth iCAMP was successfully conducted to around 100 students, representing 10 teams from 6 Universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain (University of Bahrain, Talal Abu Ghazala University, Kingdom University, Royal University for Women, RCSI and Polytechnic). The workshop was sponsored by one of our leading partners and board members - EY.

During the workshop, Mr. Essa Al-Jowder, EY Bahrain office Managing Partner reached out to the students and inspired them to pursue their dreams and ambitions stating: “There is a champion inside each and every one of you !! ”University of Bahrain Team was the ultimate winner to the business challenge topic “Social Media & Technology". They came with the idea to have a social media verification process for social media published news.
INJAZ Bahrain conducted the 7th iCAMP, under the sponsorship of BANAGAS, to more than 50 university students from The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF). The “Yellow Team ” was awarded the winning trophy based on the judging panel’s scoring for their H2O entertainment facility as part of the business challenge "Youth entertainment facilities in Bahrain”. The teams had a great time competing and sharing ideas and some even expressed the fact this workshop really opened their minds to thinking like real business people.

Toast Master training for Company Program Students

More than 70 INJAZ Bahrain’s company students from 10 schools participated in the Toast Master training as part of developing the students' presentation and public speaking skills in preparation for INJAZ Bahrain’s Annual Company Competition.

The training was delivered by two Toastmaster experts from Gulf Petroleum Industries Company “GPIC” and the Bahrain Petroleum Company “BAPCO”. The President of GPIC Dr. Abdul Rahman Jawahery commented: “You are the leaders of tomorrow and your country has provided you with all the fundamental components to be successful. Be optimistic and look forward to contributing with success wherever you are”.

Volunteering opportunities at University of Bahrain

In partnership with INJAZ Bahrain, University of Bahrain has encouraged the faculty, staff and students to take the opportunity to volunteer with INJAZ Bahrain and give back to the community, sharing their knowledge and experiences with the youth of tomorrow.

INJAZ Bahrain's mission was very well received by the attendees and some even signed up instantly demonstrating great initiative, enthusiasm and interest in volunteering to inspire the Bahraini youth.

INJAZ Bahrain meets with University Coordinators

On 21st January 2015, INJAZ Bahrain invited 11 top Universities in Kingdom of Bahrain to explore new opportunities on collaboration and engagement and to share ideas on strategies for increased awareness of INJAZ Bahrain program in Universities. Various ideas were shared for the upcoming Universities Campaign scheduled in the month of Feb 2015.

INJAZ Bahrain continues to boost relationship with its partners

INJAZ Bahrain recently held the annual board companies' coordinators meeting. The meeting was hosted by Al Salam Bank at the ART Rotana Amwaj Island.
The aim of the meeting was to brief all the key business partners on INJAZ Bahrain’s business plans for the upcoming spring semester 2014/15, boost the company coordinators' support towards the programs, promote INJAZ Bahrain programs within their organization, and seek commitment to provide high caliber volunteers.
All parties put together a number of recommendations and suggestions for enhanced participation and program delivery. INJAZ Bahrain and its partners are continuously working together to provide opportunities for youth to explore their potentials and develop skills that will help them make better career choices and provide them with a more promising future.

University Campaign

INJAZ Bahrain conducted the Universities' Campaign, showcasing its programs to university students and faculty, highlighting the impact of INJAZ Bahrain programs on its volunteers and students and raising awareness on social responsibility towards serving the community. The booth activities got the students to interact with our program delivery methodologies and some students instantly signed up for our programs. The campaign will continue till the end of February in 6 different universities in Bahrain.

INJAZ Bahrain Company Internship

As part of the plan to expose students to the real world of work, INJAZ Bahrain organized Internship training for 49 students from 8 of the Company program teams.
This training is offered to students to enrich the students’ experience with real work knowledge, engage with senior members of management and gain awareness of local businesses, industries and career opportunities. The internship opportunities were granted by “GPIC, BBK, Alba, Citi Bank, and KFH” as part of their longstanding partnership and support to INJAZ Bahrain and their belief in the importance of their contribution in providing career guidance to the youth in preparation for the work place.

INJAZ Bahrain Primary Students Extended Learning Opportunity

INJAZ Bahrain in partnership with Ritz Carlton Bahrain offered an extended learning opportunity to explore the field of hospitality through a full day visit to the outstanding premises where the INJAZ Bahrain students were introduced to the hospitality element, healthy eating and food safety module. 50 students aged from 11 to 13 years old from Alkhansa Primary Girls School and Ibn Sina Primary Boys School attended an extended lectures about choosing the right meals, the healthy food components and its benefits on the mental and physical health. Students were taken in a tour to the hotel where the assigned Ritz Carlton Bahrain Community Foot Prints team enlightened the different facilities and departments and its functions as well as the significant role each employee execute in the hotel.
Such opportunities help students explore the work field through engaging with the private sectors volunteers in their organizations as well as enhance their awareness of the different sectors available and open their eyes to the tourism sector, which is one of the most important segment in the economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

INJAZ Bahrain Holds Its 2017 National Company Competition and Annual Appreciation Ceremony

INJAZ Bahrain successfully concluded its 9th annual National Company Competition at the Crown Plaza Hotel. The event witnessed 20 student entrepreneur teams from around the Kingdom compete to obtain the coveted “University Company of the Year” and “School Company of the Year” titles in addition to several other awards, with over 13 high schools and three universities participating in this year’s Company Competition.
“Machla” team from Ibn Khuldoon National School won “High School Company of the Year”, and “Royal Creators” team from the Royal University for Women won “University Company of the Year”.
“Step” team from Jidhafs Secondary Girls School won the High School Product of the Year 2017,
“Ghamza” team from the University of Bahrain won the University Product of the Year 2017,
“Special Needs Future” team from Al Estiqlal Secondary Girls School won High School Company for Best Social Impact 2017 and
“Yabilha Puzzle” team from the University of Bahrain won University Company for Best Social Impact 2017
Commenting on the conclusion of the event Her Highness Sheikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain said “INJAZ Bahrain is grateful for the support of all its partners, volunteers, coordinators and students for their contribution in making the 2016-2017 academic year a resounding success. Our Company Competition reflects the skills, creativity and initiative demonstrated by the participating student teams, and how crucial planning, teamwork, problem-solving and communication are to achieving success as they progress professionally as Bahrain’s future business leaders of Bahrain.”
Awards for exceptional volunteers, and board companies were also handed out at the end of the event. The honorees who dedicated their time included: 22 platinum category volunteers who have volunteered for more than 100 hours over the years, 28 gold category volunteers who logged more than 24 hours this academic year and 2 silver category volunteers who were awarded for their added efforts. GPIC and Alba were recognized with a Volunteer Service award for their staff dedicating the most volunteer hours.
The competition was sponsored by platinum sponsors GPIC & Tamkeen, gold sponsor Banagas & silver sponsors Batelco and Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Charity.

INJAZ Bahrain Young CEO’s program

As part of youth development and providing opportunities to inspire and prepare youth to succeed in a global economy, INJAZ Bahrain scheduled a “Young CEO’s Program" during the board strategic retreat on 21st March 2017 held at GPIC Club. INJAZ Bahrain's long term vision is to enhance and leverage on the Company program to make it one of our most sought out programs for schools and universities by encouraging young students of the program to become the future Entrepreneurs and by providing them with the skills needed to succeed in in the local economy. The Young CEO program gives the student CEO's of the company program the opportunity to network with top executives from diverse backgrounds, industries and countries, gain valuable market knowledge and develop understanding of the roles and responsibilities of top executives represented by the INJAZ Board Members to pave the way for these youngsters to become successful leaders of the future.
19 Young student CEO's from 12 Schools and 2 Universities who are participating in this year's Company Program met with nine INJAZ Bahrain’s aspiring board members and had open discussions on how to manage their companies, deal with financial aspects, and manage staff, market challenges and general business opportunities.

“The Young CEO program is a great opportunity offered to us through the Company program where we get a chance to meet and have a close discussion with Real CEOs of the biggest organizations in the Kingdom of Bahrain. I was eager to hear their tips and success stories and learn from their extended professional and personal experience. I now believe that I can be a future leader, I can achieve my dreams”. INJAZ Bahrain and Tamkeen renewed collaboration

INJAZ Bahrain in partnership with Tamkeen, is offering secondary and university students a unique opportunity to develop a strong perception of entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy fundamentals.

Both INJAZ Bahrain and Tamkeen are determined to help Bahrainis to realize the Vision 2030 development goals of our leaders which promises every Bahraini the chance to blossom to their fullest capacity. INJAZ Bahrain helps to give young Bahrainis a better perspective of planning career and life goals and works with them to strengthen their understanding of social and economic challenges by educating and empowering them to transform their future and economic success.

The seven Tamkeen sponsored programmer are Company, Personal Finance, Career Success, It’s My Future, Be Entrepreneurial, Job Shadow and ICamp, which is integrated into schools and universities in 2016-2017 academic year is designed to reach more than 18,000 students over a five year period.

Dr. Ebrahim Janahi, chief executive of Tamkeen, commented: "We aim through this partnership to prepare the youth to enter the labor market, and to provide them with the skills and tools that contribute to instill their entrepreneurial spirit, our belief in creating economic culture to the students to be able to identify their future, and contribute to promoting economic development in the Kingdom.”


INJAZ Bahrain held its annual company coordinators assembly

INJAZ Bahrain held its annual board companies' coordinators meeting on 19th January 2017. The meeting was hosted by Ithmaar Bank at Fraser Suites, Seef Area.
The annual meeting is held to enhance the ongoing relationship between INJAZ Bahrain representatives and the company coordinators representing the valued board companies.
The aim of the meeting is to brief all the key business partners on INJAZ Bahrain’s business plans for the upcoming spring semester 2016/17, boost the company coordinators' support towards the programs, promote INJAZ Bahrain programs within their organization, seek commitment to provide high caliber volunteers, exchange new approaches and ideas as well as the forthcoming strategic plan .
The meeting was attended by Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain. The executive director who thanked the coordinators for all support they extend to INJAZ Bahrain particularly on the level of volunteers’ provision by saying “We are really grateful to the effort you put into the advancement of INJAZ Bahrain’s mission. Providing volunteers from your organization is not an easy task. We know how hard and challenging it is to encourage individuals to give in their time and full commitment to ensure successful implementation of our programs. You are our ambassadors in your organizations. Our board members are strong believers of our mission of empowering youth to own their economic success.”


INJAZ Bahrain Schools & Universities Annual Appreciation Day

INJAZ Bahrain organized its schools and universities annual appreciation day, which took a place on February 27 2017, at Bapco club in recognition of the on-going collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

The event honoured educators, Ministry of Education officials and school coordinators who are actively involved in the organization’s programs. In presence of H.H Shaikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al-Khalifa, the Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain, INJAZ Bahrain board members , Private Schools Directorate and other VIP officials at the Ministry of Education.

Certificates of appreciation were distributed to all participating school coordinators for their efforts and valuable contributions over the 2015-2016 academic year. Trophies were also handed out to the Best Schools and University for 2015-2016 and to the Ministry of Education for their lasting support in implementing INJAZ Bahrain programs.

With the support of 650 volunteers who were instrumental in reaching over 17,500 students in 94 primary,40 intermediate, and 24secondary, 3 technical government and 11 private schools, as well as 5 universities over the course of the fall semester 2016-2017. An inspiring success story was shared by the company program National and Regional competition winners’, team Roshana students from Ibn Khuldoon National School.

INJAZ Bahrain Alumni Association Event

INJAZ Bahrain held its first Alumni association event, on the 7th February 2017 with the aim to gather the members and launch the association. During the networking event, INJAZ Bahrain COO, Ms. Hana Sarwani welcomed the attendees and stated “In order for us to succeed as a nation, we need to create an environment that is secure and full of opportunities. This will take forces such as yourself to change mind-sets, develop ecosystems that promote entrepreneurship, innovation and a good work ethics.”

The event included several segments to introduce INJAZ Bahrain Alumni Association, where Mr. Abdulla Al Ansari a member of the association board gave an inspirational speech sharing his journey with INJAZ Bahrain quoting: Coming from different backgrounds and sharing best practices is what we can benefit from each other's experiences. This is our vision of the future of this association and we believe that the alumni input is the most important aspect as it will give us a chance to meet our ambitions and desires through our association thanks to the continued support of INJAZ Bahrain.

Moreover, emphasizing on what the association revealed at the event; Ms. Dana Al Qassimi facilitated a mini brainstorming workshop where all the attendees participated to originate with innovative and creative ideas to develop and improve the mutual benefits between the association and its 1200+ active alumni members.



INJAZ Bahrain primary programs focus

INJAZ Bahrain aims to benefit the highest number of students in the primary level in order to provide them with information and basic concepts related to financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship to reinforce business oriented youth through Our Nation, Ourselves and Our Families programs.

Through the field visits to the primary schools we could determine the passion of the young students to participate in INJAZ Bahrain beneficial and enjoyable programs, as INJAZ Bahrain mission is for young Bahrainis to thrive in a global economy and be active contributors to building the nation’s future.

INJAZ Bahrain have reached in the fall semester of the academic year 2017-2016 more than 4,000 primary level students, in 380 classrooms, with the support of 387 volunteers of which are 297 educators and 90 volunteers that dedicate their time to mentor the youth and make a difference in their future.

INJAZ Bahrain Innovation Camp Workshop

INJAZ Bahrain has successfully conducted 6 Innovation Camp workshops in the fall semester 2016-2017. The workshop was hosted by our valuable board members and leading partners, Bapco, University of Bahrain, BIBF, Arabian Pearl Gulf Private School and Al Wisam International School. This semester marks the first participation of the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program students in INJAZ Bahrain Innovation Camp, where the outstanding students enjoyed the challenge of a real business experience.

More than 400 students have participated and benefited from this entrepreneurship program with the assistance of 71 corporate volunteers who help them expand their horizon and direct the student teams towards entrepreneurial future and 6 Bahraini entrepreneurs that shared their valuable knowledge, experience and guidance to the students with hands-on activities.

ICamp workshop is an exciting one day workshop dedicated to secondary and university level students that challenges them to find the most innovative solution to a business challenges using critical thinking, teamwork, communication and leadership skills.

INJAZ Bahrain celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week

INJAZ Bahrain celebrated Global Entrepreneurship week in partnership with University of Bahrain. Global Entrepreneurship Week is an international initiative that introduces entrepreneurship to young people.
The event was held in the campus of the university for a week where INJAZ Bahrain conducted some inspirational sessions for the students , where young Bahraini entrepreneurs hit the stage and spoke about their personal lessons, insights and overall their business success story. INJAZ Bahrain Alumni who also took part of the event explained to the students the journey as a real life entrepreneurs, how to start up a business and the positive impact of our programs. Furthermore students had the great opportunity to network and receive guidance from the entrepreneurs themselves. The event included a brief orientation about INJAZ Bahrain extended learning opportunities to gain entrepreneurship skills offered to the university students through our six programs:
Be Entrepreneurial, Innovation Camp, Company, Career Success, Head Start and Personal Finance.

INJAZ Bahrain successfully hosted the 10th annual INJAZ Al-Arab Young Arab Entrepreneurs Competition.

Under the kind patronage of HRH Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Chairman of the “Waqf” Isa bin Salman Educational Charity, INJAZ Bahrain hosted the 10th annual INJAZ Al-Arab Young Arab Entrepreneurs Competition. With its first time being hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the event was attended by over 500 guests at the ART Rotana Hotel in Amwaj, where the competition was held from November 21st until November 24th , 2016.
The ceremony was attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, on behalf of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The competition saw 20 teams consisting of young Arab entrepreneurs from across the MENA region competing to obtain the prestigious titles of “University Company of the Year” and “School Company of the Year”, as well as several other awards.
• The University Company of the Year award was given to Watad from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
• The School Company of the Year award went to Roshena from the Kingdom of Bahrain.
• The University and High School Product of the Year awards were given to Ecoouifia from Morocco and Wasila from Egypt respectively.
• The Social Impact award was granted to Grow from Algeria for the University category and Jedmer from Tunisia for the High School category.
• The 2016 FedEx Access Award went to Bellora from Oman
• Citi Client Focus Award also went to to Roshena from the Kingdom of Bahrain
• The MBC Al Amal Best PSA of the Year Award was also won by Watad from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Speaking after the competition, the Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain, Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa said: “We are extremely proud of all the participating students from across the region for their hard work, dedication and creativity in adapting business concepts to real-life applications. Their efforts over the last six months have taken them a long way and they have demonstrated their capabilities in their presentations. We are especially proud that Bahrain was able to host the annual competition, for the first time, in its remarkable 10th anniversary. The INJAZ Al Arab’s National Company Program Competition has set a high bar for next year’s participants, and we are excited to see what the future holds for INJAZ’s students.”

INJAZ Bahrain Universities' Roadshows

INJAZ Bahrain conducted a number of roadshows in various universities across the Kingdom in order to reach out and directly engage the students. The roadshow campaign successfully registered more than 250 students in its first week aiming to increase the number in the coming two weeks through the hands on activities , the success stories shared and the brief introduction about INJAZ Bahrain and its cutting edge, experiential learning in finical literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs.

The 6 University programs promoted during the camping ignite the spark in young people to experience and realize the opportunities and realities of work and life in the 21stcentury, including the newly launched program, Head Start. The Head Start program provides academically enriching and experiential learning sessions in work-readiness education and career perspectives, it teaches the youth the skills they need to succeed in the work place and the world of business.

Innovation Camp at BIBF

INJAZ Bahrain had successfully held its second Innovation Camp ”iCamp”, for the Fall semester 2016-2017 at Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance “BIBF”.

BIBF is recognized as one of the strongest educators and training providers in the business sector’s and is considered as the largest training institution in the kingdom of Bahrain.

This iCamp was part of BIBF's induction week, where all foundation year students were given the opportunity to share and develop ideas. Students were divided into 7 teams with the assistance of corporate volunteers trained by INJAZ Bahrain to get them started. Throughout the day the teams compete against each other and find a creative solution for a real business challenge which was “Tourism in Bahrain” within a very limited time using specific tools, information and resources. And as part of this workshop, students were able to meet and engage with a successful Bahraini entrepreneurs, Ms. Zahra Taher the founder of FinMarks communications, a local corporate and financial communications consultancy, who as well shared her success story with the students.

INJAZ Bahrain Beats the Heat with Summer programs

For the second consecutive year, INJAZ Bahrain successfully participated in summer camps with various institutes across the island. INJAZ Bahrain reached out to 93 students during the summer.
The focus over the summer was mainly on Primary Programs and the Company program. Ourselves and Our Families primary programs were offered to students aged 7 to 10 in Al-Eslah Society, Bin Derbass Mousqe Center, and Abdulla Alsaeeb Quran Center. The programs demonstrates fundamental information of work readiness and financial literacy skills for students through hands on learning activities.
INJAZ Bahrain also participated in the annual 2030 Youth City event and offered its signature program The Company during the month of July and August 2016. As part of the program, INJAZ Bahrain provides the participants’ with significant knowledge and skills to start up entrepreneurial companies. The program emphasizes company start-up content, while providing complementary focus on contemporary issues, research and analysis, communication, organization, marketing, budgeting and business planning.

INJAZ Bahrain Setting New Milestones

INJAZ Bahrain is excited to announce the tremendously increase its outreach, with a total of 21,028 students in 170 primary, intermediate, and secondary government and private schools, as well as 5 universities over the course of the academic calendar year 2015/2016, compared to 20,001 students the year prior.
The achieved target is part of the non-profit organization’s strategic plan that aimed to influence over 100,000 students by the end of this year, a record-breaking in terms of students reached since its inception.
A dedicated lineup of nearly 810 volunteers mentored the students through 15 programs which cover a wide variety of work-related skills, the essentials of financial literacy and entrepreneurship fundamentals.
INJAZ Bahrain would like to extend its gratitude towards the support received from our supporters and board members that able us to highlight our continued achievements, and we look forward to the future constant success to effectively broaden the canvass of possibility for young people and enriches their ability to both engage in their own economic development as well as contribute to strengths their families, communities and economies.

More than Money program ignite intermediate students with the support of HSBC

For the nine consecutive year, INJAZ Bahrain and HSBC are partnering to deliver the “More than Money” initiative, an innovative program which provides Bahrain’s Youth with the basic financial literacy skills they need to own their own economic success.

More than 15,330 young Bahraini students at the intermediate school levels have benefited from the program over the past nine years, with an additional 1500 students are expected to benefit during the upcoming academic year 2016-2017.
The program was delivered by 67 dedicated volunteers who shared their professional know-how and secrets of success with the students to prepare them for success in the real world.

The program educates intermediate students about earning, spending, sharing and saving money. The program as well introduce the fundamental knowledge about businesses students can start or jobs they can perform to earn money.

The joint initiative began in 2008 when HSBC Holdings teamed up with INJAZ Bahrain’s mother organization Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide to sponsor and implement “More than Money” program around the world.

INJAZ Bahrain attended JA Europe Company of the Year Competition

INJAZ Bahrain attended the 28th JA Europe Company of the Year Competition that was held in Brussels, Belgium on July 2017. The organization was honored to be the first Arab Member Nation invited by JA Worldwide as part of the global milestone INJAZ Bahrain is aiming for in its growth strategy. The winners of INJAZ Bahrain National Company Competition for the Year 2016-2017, the organization signature program for both high school category represented by students from Machla team from Ibn Khuldoon National School and for university category represented by Royal Creators team from Royal University of Women. The teams had the privilege to be chosen by the organization to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain as special guests in Brussels. Through the trip, students were able to gain experience, expand their horizon and engage with other member nations to drive for the upcoming competition INJAZ Al Arab Young Entrepreneurs Competition held in November 2017.

INJAZ Bahrain Staff attends the essential of service course

Ritz Carlton Bahrain has taken the initiative to Introduce INJAZ Bahrain Staff to the “Essential of Service” on July 2017 as part of the ongoing partnership between the two parties. The training started with INJAZ Bahrain staff introducing themselves, followed by a welcome speech from the hotel Director of Learning & Development, Ms. Rasha Ghoul sharing the Ritz Carlton service values, motto, credo and staff motivation techniques. The training presented the essential key elements of customer service and how INJAZ Bahrain staff can apply it in their related core business to build a strong customer service culture in the organization. The staff examined different aspects of delivering exceptional customer service and how it leads to increased overall profitability.

INJAZ Bahrain Summer Camp 2017

Introduced by INJAZ Bahrain for the first time and in cooperation with the valued board companies, ‘INJAZ Bahrain Summer Camp 2017’ has been designed to help boost the high calibers volunteering culture for the companies’ employees by delivering hands on activities through our programs to their children, relatives and their colleagues sibling’s. The camp involved partnership of both entities to hold summer camps programs during the month of July and August at each company premises conducted by its volunteer’s members to benefit the youth in connection with its employees. The focus over the summer was to deliver programs for students from different educational levels: primary, intermediate, secondary and university interns. The programs demonstrates fundamental information of work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills for students through hands on learning activities. INJAZ Bahrain was able to reach to more than 220 students with the support of more than 28 dedicated volunteers

GOYS - 2030 Youth City

INJAZ Bahrain also participated for the seventh running year in the annual 2030 Youth City event organized by Bahrain’s General Organization for Youth and Sports (GOYS) and offered its signature program The Company & ICAMP. As part of the programs, INJAZ Bahrain provided the participants’ with significant knowledge and skills to start up entrepreneurial companies & innovative thinking.

The annual meeting is held to enhance the ongoing relationship between INJAZ Bahrain and the universities coordinators engaged for the upcoming academic year 2017 – 2018. INJAZ Bahrain discusses the means of collaboration and partnership with the esteemed universities, as well as shared the upcoming year's plan in terms of timing of events and engagement opportunities for the universities’ to implement in order to develop and upskill future youth. INJAZ Bahrain strongly believes that with the 4 dedicated university programs it offers, it can add great value to the students in providing them with the necessary hands-on and experiential learning opportunities to equip them for the world of work. Both parties look forward to a successful engagement and cooperation in partnering and support to reach out to more young students, inspiring and preparing them to succeed in the global economy.

Celebrating the Outstanding Achievement through “INJAZ Talk” Alumni Event

INJAZ Bahrain held its first “INJAZ Talk” event which took place on Tuesday 31st October 2017 in the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel in partnership with GPIC. The “INJAZ Talk” event persistence is to inspire the Alumnis’ youth population through sharing success stories of national figures role modules where Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery GPIC President and INJAZ Bahrain Chairman who revealed his inspiring journey to success, professional knowledge and personal experience as well as advices on how to overcome obstacles and accomplish achievements. The event offered the youth outstanding networking opportunities with representatives of leading companies in the Kingdom, Bahraini Entrepreneurs and organization who empowers the youth and support starts up such as Tamkeen, CH9 and EDB. In the presence of H.H. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, INJAZ Bahrain Executive Director, the organization board members, VIP guests and more than 250 guests, INJAZ Bahrain celebrated its ext-ordinary achievement for rewarded the highest performance score ever recorded among all MENA region. The exceptional record was accomplished through INJAZ Al Arab yearly evaluation, where INJAZ Bahrain proven a great deal of professionalism in planning & execution, fulfilling expectations and complying with Standards, Policies & Procedures.

More than 370 elementary students participated in “INJAZ in A Day"

INJAZ Bahrain introduced “INJAZ in A Day" for the first time in the academic year 2017-2018 for the elementary school students. The event is a high impactful way to deliver INJAZ’s sessions for a particular grade level all in one single day at a chosen school enhancing the partnership between a business and an elementary school. Like all INJAZ Bahrain programs, business volunteers help educate and inspire youth about the connection between education and success in the workplace, and give them hope for the future. “INJAZ in a Day” is a unique newly introduced approach to delivering programs by offering volunteers a great opportunity to get involved with INJAZ Bahrain and inspire the students without facing schedule conflicts or long-term commitments. Corporate Organizations dedicate and select a number of their employees as volunteers to deliver programs in assigned classrooms. INJAZ in a Day provides volunteers with the opportunity to practice their presentation, organizational, and teamwork skills. This event was held in Hamad Town Primary Boys School with a huge success, positive feedbacks and a most importantly fruitful impact on more than 370 young students of the second and first grade. The event took place with the participation of 12 volunteers from HSBC, Bapco and Gulf Air who enjoyed the school day spent together learning about Our Families and Ourselves programs. The programs demonstrated the financial literacy and work readiness fundamentals through storytelling and team building hands on activities where students learn about the roles of people play in our local economy, the difference between the needs and wants, jobs, earnings and savings.
